MEP Project Manager
The MEP Project Manager will report directly to the Project Executive in charge of the assigned project. The success of the MEP Project Manager depends on their ability to work effectively with clients and P. Agnes Management from the Preconstruction transition through the Construction and closeout process.
While there are specific responsibilities and expectations described below, it is essential to remember that your overall success will depend on four primary project areas:

The MEP Project Manager is primarily responsible for the profitability and effective management of specific projects from the time of assignment to project completion by implementing assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Construction project managers supervise construction projects from beginning (preconstruction) to end (certificate of occupancy & close out)
- Take overall responsibility for the performance and quality control of all MEP trades. This includes, but is not limited to the following scope of work: Mechanical, Plumbing, Medical Air, Vac and Gas, Ductwork, Building Controls, Electrical, Fire Alarm, Nurse Call, Tele/Data, AV, Security, Site Utilities and Fire Protection
- An understanding of the construction business and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment are important for career success
- Communicate directly with contractors/designers concerning project cost, staffing, and scheduling. Prepares project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications
- Ensure that a project is completed according to schedule, managers must resolve problems that arise due to inclement weather, unforeseen conditions, emergencies, and or other issues that may cause delays
- Create initial baseline project schedule identifying various phases and milestones as required by the project. Continuously maintain and update this schedule on a minimum monthly basis. Identify schedule risks and suggest recovery methodologies when required
- Manage financial control of project. This includes verifying applications for payment, resolving Cost Events (CE), generating Change Orders, preparing monthly financial reports for project, and working with P. Agnes main office to generate the monthly Application for Payment to the client
- Provide accurate projections during project and maintain current cost reports to be provided to Executives
- Prior to installation, review shop drawings and submittals for compliance and completeness
- Participate in the cost review and change order process as it relates to the MEP trades. Assists the Project Manager as necessary in estimating change orders
- Review all pay requests from MEP subcontractors and ensure that they are proper and timely
- Provide scheduling input to the project team as it relates to the MEP trades
- Coordinate onsite MEP activities, materials procurement, and other related activities with Project Manager and Field Staff
- Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed and requested
- Troubleshoot and assist in the resolution of field installation issues
- Attend weekly meetings with owners, architects, and subcontractors. Chair additional meetings with the MEP subcontractors as necessary
- Coordinates the installation of owner provided equipment as it relates to the MEP trades
- Monitors the installation and start-up of MEP systems and commissioning of project with Engineer & Owner
- Coordinate and manage the owner training process
- Manage the close out process for the MEP trades
- Maintain good relationships with coworkers, vendors, subcontractors, owners, engineers, and architects
- Confidently lead a team and provide direction to staff as required
- 4-year degree in either Engineering, Construction, or Architecture
- 5 to 10 years of project management experience
- MEP construction experience
- Proficient in subcontract scope review and buyout
- Cost and change order management
- Strong computer, verbal, and written skills
