Our P. Agnes Diversity Committee recently organized a food drive to assist Philabundance, the largest hunger relief organization in the Delaware Valley, fill the summer meal gap in our community. Without access to nutritious food, or enough of it, people cannot excel. Food insecurity affects everything – from health to education and financial success.
Throughout the month of June, our employees collected and donated non-perishable food items. We also were able to get some of our subcontractors involved with donating, as we had collection bins at a few of our jobsites. Our donations were dropped off to Philabundance on July 2nd.
Our P. Agnes Diversity Committee engages our employees in diversity-focused initiatives that encourage diversity and inclusion within our own organization, our industry, and our community. One initiative that the Committee is working on is participating in events that give back to the community which allows our employees to learn about our community and develop an understanding of different people and lifestyles, while also helping those in need. Through our donations to Philabundance, we are helping people in our community fight food insecurity and have the opportunity to prosper.
Our Diversity Committee continues to look for ways to contribute to our community, and has plans to participate in other events in the near future.
