P. Agnes was recently selected by the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School to perform mechanical and HVAC upgrades and façade repairs to the Steinberg Conference Center.
Constructed in 1986, the Conference Center houses the Aresty Institute of Executive Education, which runs continuing education programs for business executives. The building consists of six levels; the basement, first, and second floors feature state-of-the-art learning facilities while the upper three floors serve as a hotel for guests during seminars. The facility also features an octagonal courtyard in the southwest corner, often referred to as “the donut,” which is used for outdoor events.
The mechanical and HVAC upgrades for this project include replacing 20 exhaust fans, servicing and upgrading Fan Coil Units in guestrooms and conference rooms, rebalancing each diffuser, terminal box, and Air Handling Unit, and upgrading the buildings controls system. Repairs to the façade will include general repointing, replacing cracked brick and bond beam lintels, and replacing curtainwall glass.
Construction for the project started in March 2021, and is expected to be completed August 2021.
