Last month marked the completion of the first phase of the expansion project, which began in February of 2017, that phase consisted of the bulk of the total construction, including a 93,000 square-foot expansion housing 104 additional bedrooms consisting of new family bedrooms and protected patient bedroom suites. The project also included a welcome center and reception area to greet families as well as a newly constructed first floor kitchen for guest chefs and families to use which seats 200 people.
This month, the new rooftop green space and exterior landscaping will be completed to provide outdoor spaces for patients, siblings and caregivers to enjoy as the weather gets warmer.
The next phase of the project, which consists of a fitout of the first floor of the existing building within the Ronald McDonald house, is underway and is scheduled to complete by September of this year. This renovation will add playrooms, an exercise room, and an education room. The architect on both phases of this project is EwingCole.
